| 2 years ago, I purposely drove a few T-top TT coupes to compare to the then very cheap convertible I'd landed. I could have sold it right then and bought a TT and not gone thru the conversion. The only reason to buy the vert was to have a good tops down experience. I compared it to C4 vette and E36 BMW convertibles. It compared favorably to those two cars. At 80mph--windows rolled up, you can converse with the person next to you in a Z convertible. The only thing you have to contend with is car and truck noise as they drive by. You should try it. Now, that said, when the top is up, it'll never be as quiet as a coupe, but vert lovers understand the tradeoff. For me, it's more a thing of the chassis being flexible, and judging by the comments so far, none of you have driven a vert Z, and noticed what I am talking about. At 80mph in a T-tops Z --with the tops off, your ears will bleed. The buffeting from the edges of the t-top holes is amazingly badly designed. The spring-loaded "wind gaurds" are a joke. I'd never use the t-tops feature. I'd rather have a slicktop if I'm going for a "coupe". _MWS
